MdM Focused Research Activities
The CRM opens a call for proposals for high-level scientific activities related to the topics in the CRM MdM Strategic Research Programme 22-25. The organizing and scientific committees are expected to be led by CRM Faculty members.
Specifically, we are currently requesting expressions of interest for focused research activities to be held from September to December 2025. Expressions of interest should be submitted by 18th December 2024 to the address mdm@crm.cat
Requirements
All activities must be of clear scientific interest and relevant to the state of the art in the respective topics. Proposals are expected to connect topics across diverse research areas/lines in the MdM Strategic Research Programme (SRP) 22-25. The seven areas described here: https://www.crm.cat/groups.
They are expected to span during several weeks and include some training activity addressing predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers as part of the programme.
Equality and Diversity
In support of the principles of the CRM Equity Plan and the MdM SRP 22-25, the CRM has set a target of a minimum 33% of women speakers and organizers. We encourage organizing teams to make efforts in this direction and to explain their approach in their expression of interest.
HOW TO APPLY
MdM Focused Research Activities
Expressions of interest must include the following information:
• Title.
• The C.V. of each member of the organizing committee.
• A scientific description of the event, including major research, training and outreach activities.
• A tentative list of key invited participants and their potential role in the program.
• A schedule of the proposed activities.
• A preliminary budget (with a limit of 30K euros). Please consider that expenses must comply with the eligibility guidelines and requirements set by the Ministry, according to the current regulations.
Scientific activities will typically include workshops, conferences, schools, and short-and long-term visitors. Expressions of interest will be reviewed by the CRM Director, CRM Head of Activities and MdM Scientific Director. Organizers will be informed of their decision by Friday 20th December 2024.
If the proposal is accepted, members of the organizing committee will be responsible for organizing the MdM Focused Research Activities with full support from the CRM staff. The Head of Activities will contact them to agree on the definitive schedule, list of participants, final scientific programme and financial support.
Those interested in preparing and EoI are encouraged to contact the MdM Scientific Director (Marcel Guàrdia) and/or the CRM Head of Activities (Joaquim Ortega) to discuss their ideas before finishing and submitting their application.
The expression of interest should present a convincing case that the event is of a high standard, will foster inter-area connections and will attract a significant number of participants
