Boosting Career 2025 Call

Description

The Boosting Career grants aim to provide tenure track scientists who recently became CRM members with an opportunity to develop their own independent project, networking and collaborations.


The 2025 Boosting Career call will be funded by the MdM Unit of Excellence Award 2022-2025.


Projects with women researchers as leaders will be prioritized, aligned with the goals in the CRM Equality 2023-2025 Plan and CRM-MdM SRP2022-2025 objectives to foster women´s scientific careers.


Projects focused on topics connecting diverse mathematical areas will be valued positively.


Eligibility
Projects proposed by lecturers, Ramon y Cajal, Beatriz Galindo, or Serra Hunter Fellows who have become affiliated or have been recruited by CRM between September 2022 and September 2024.


Eligible Costs
o Personnel: Research assistants (i.e. master students).
o Travel and accommodation for collaborators (i.e. short visits. NOTE: not per diem can be funded due to MdM /AEI regulations).
o Travel and accommodation for the researcher to visit collaborators and/or attend conferences/workshops plus registration fees.
The maximum budget to be requested will be 10K. No materials can be purchased.

The deadline for submitting proposals is on 25th November 2024.

The proposal should be submitted to the email address: mdm@crm.cat including in one pdf file (max 3 pages):
o Project description: scientific topic, activities.
o Motivation letter: How will the proposed activities help you advancing your future career? 
o Budget (table arranged into types of eligible costs).

Duration
From 1st January to 31st December 2025

Evaluation
Proposals will be evaluated by a panel comprising three CRM senior members, one of which will be a woman at least, and avoiding any potential conflict of interest. They will produce a report for the CRM Director´s Team, who will communicate results to the awarded researchers.

The Evaluation Panel will consider:
o Scientific quality of the proposal,
o Foundation and novelty of any proposed collaboration,
o Feasibility of the proposed activities (budget/team adjusted to the scientific proposal).

Follow-up
The final outcomes of the project(s) will be presented at a CRM workshop in early 2026.
